Tehran Int’l Puppet Festival to host 48 plays

The 19th Tehran International Puppet Theatre Festival or Mobarak International Puppet Theater Festival is slated to play host to a total of 48 plays.

The festival will be held in sections of Adult, Child, Adolescent and Family with the participation of 48 plays which have been selected from a total of 513 plays sent to the event’s secretariat office.

According to the festival’s public relations office, a number of 167 works have also been submitted to the secretariat, 17 of which have been chosen by the selection committee for participation in the ‘Adult Section’.

The Child, Adolescent and Family Sections have also received some 219 plays of which only 18 have been selected for the contest.

The festival will be held in an Outdoor Section as well which will provide a stage for contest among 13 plays, selected from a total initial number of 127 works.

Iranian actor, director and screenwriter Hadi Hejazifar will be the secretary of the festival.

The event is to be held in the Iranian capital on October 14-22, 2022.
